Rusza największe w Polsce święto stworzone dzięki połączeniu pasji ludzi z różnych środowisk, pracujących z miłości do swoich „małych ojczyzn” - drugie ogólnopolskie Dni Partnerstwa Lokalnego. Od 15 sierpnia do 30 września 2009 będzie można świętować podczas festynów, jarmarków i koncertów tworzących ogólnopolski festiwal regionalnego dziedzictwa przyrodniczo-kulturalnego, organizowany przez Fundację Partnerstwo dla Środowiska we współpracy z Krajową Sieć Grup Partnerskich.
Dni Partnerstwa Lokalnego to cykl imprez organizowanych przez Grupy Partnerskie – lokalne porozumienia organizacji pozarządowych, samorządów i firm działających wspólnie na rzecz rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego i ochrony przyrody w swoim regionie. Grupy realizują swoje pomysły poprzez programy na rzecz „zielonej” turystyki, przedsiębiorczości, produktów lokalnych oraz pielęgnowanie lokalnego dziedzictwa kulturowego i przyrodniczego. W zeszłorocznej edycji festiwalu udział wzięło ponad 65 000 osób.
Imprezy prezentują rezultaty setek partnerskich przedsięwzięć zrealizowanych w różnych zakątkach kraju. W wyniku działań Grup Partnerskich utworzono kilka tysięcy kilometrów szlaków rowerowych, pieszych, konnych i kajakowych w ramach Zielonych Szlaków Greenways (www.greenways.pl), wypromowano wiele niepowtarzalnych produktów rękodzielniczych i lokalnych przysmaków, które znalazły swych miłośników, a także stworzono wiele miejsc pracy dla osób zaangażowanych w przedsięwzięcia na Zielonych Szlakach. W działania Grup Partnerskich zaangażowały się setki osób, które poznały lepiej swój region i zaczęły doceniać jego kulturę i przyrodę.
W ramach festiwalu w całym kraju odbędą się imprezy prezentujące wiele barwnych zakątków Polski oraz efekty partnerskiej współpracy na poziomie lokalnym i krajowym. Podczas tych wydarzeń odbędą się m.in. pokazy rękodzieła regionalnego, pokazy filmów i zdjęć z Zielonych Szlaków Greenways, degustacje i konkursy z nagrodami. Kulminacyjnym punktem tegorocznej edycji Dni Partnerstwa będzie festyn „Smaki Zielonych Szlaków”, który odbędzie się w dniach 11-12 września 2009 na Placu Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego (pl. Dworcowy) w Krakowie. Spotkają się na nim przedstawiciele Grup Partnerskich z całej Polski, by zachęcić do podróżowania Zielonymi Szlakami Greenways po wciąż jeszcze mało znanych lecz urokliwych zakątkach kraju.
